I prefer Spotify's search engine over everything else. The search engine is very odd, I can't even describe it. The only critiques of TIDAL I have are the search engine. TIDAL is better with this specific feature compared to Spotify, but there is a complete absence of this feature on Apple Music. Spotify and TIDAL both have a feature where you can add a few of your own songs into a playlist, and then their algorithms will suggest other songs to add to your playlist. It isn't completely mediocre, but no where near the likes of either of the streaming services.Īnother feature I hate about Apple Music is that making playlists can be a pain. The music discovery thing should be self-explanatory, TIDAL and Spotify are light years ahead of Apple Music when it comes to music discovery algorithms. I would use Apple Music if they had better music discovery, and an easier way to create playlists. This is only for the web version of Apple music and the iTunes app, though. Not only is the UI buggy, albums that have transitions between one song to another have a weird awkward pause in between them, instead of a smooth transition.

I do like the interface a lot, but don't know if it's worth a full switch. I have a decent set of cans (Senn 560s with apple dong as AMP), but not a full proper setup, so maybe that's why I don't notice a difference. Actually, the only significant thing I noticed was Apple music was much louder. The interface was much better, but I honestly couldn't tell a difference in quality side by side between the two services. Picked out the best plan for audio quality to see if the change was worth it. Instead of using the iTunes app, I opted for the apple music website which is still bad, but it works.ĭecided to try Tidal recently to see the difference.
